• ATENZA: Rear damage accident

This week i was involved in an accident. I had to brake hard because of a car in front of me did the same and two guys crashed in my rear when i had to brake from 100 km/h to zero. The reson why i write this post is to remind everbody how important it is to keep distance and buckle up! It was morning i drove to work when out of nowwhere the car in front of me broke hard. I had to brake hard as well, I thought i’d hit him but luckily the car stopped approx 1m behind the car in front of me. Phew. But then…

  • ATENZA: OEM Puddle light installation & new floor mats

Recently i had the urge to replace the floor mats in my Mazda 6 / Atenza (see why in a minute). so while placing an order at Mazda, i browsed around the Mazda accessory page and also found some other cool things to add, but then luckily my budget was quite limited, so i decided to only get one additional item. A few days ago the delivery arrived: The first thing was a set of “Premium” floor mats. You have to buy the whole set and even if they’re called premium, the quality is honestly quite cheap. at least if you look at the bottom side.. This is was the…

  • OTHER: Greetings from the Julierpass

The last days we spent skiing with some friends in St.Moritz which was all great itself. But the real fun was the way there and back. Ok the way there was late at night in the dark so i took driving easy. But the way back was absolutely glorious! We initially planned to drive back over the Flüelen or Albula pass but both of them where closed because of snow / Winter-time. The other Route via davos would include loading the car on a train for a part of the trip, which i wanted to avoid, so this is basically the only route left (except a long detour via the…

  • ATENZA: Photoshoot 2020

Ever since i installed the new optional / Mazdaspeed Roof spoiler, i wanted to grab my camera and take some nice pictures. Well it didn’t really happen until yesterday. I decided to give it a quick wash and checked out some locations. Decided the local Quarrel was the perfect spot at sundown. I then selected three of the best pictures and made them a bit more clean and expressive, using my simple and very limited photoshop skills. Here we go, i hope you enjoy them as much as i do 🙂

  • ATENZA: OEM Optional Roof spoiler painted and installed

Last week i was able to pick up my painted OEM optional /  Mazdaspeed roof spoiler from the paintshop and it looked as good as expected. First you have to apply a lot of various sized seals and gaskets: Then it was time to remove the inner Trunk cover. Luckily i bought a seat of interieur panel romaval tools on ebay for 17 bucks a wile ago. those things come in handy some times 🙂 After unbolting 4 nuts, i was able to remove the old spoiler: While at it anyway, i decided to give it a proper cleanup underneath, before installing the new spoiler: That was the whole trick.…

  • ATENZA: Auto Folding mirror kit installation

Just before christmas i got my automated Folding mirror Kit. An OEM Mazda accessory piece, which came installed from factory in some trim levels and some versions. The kit kontains of some sort of a relay, a little wiring-harness extension, some zip-ties and an additional plug, plus the manual and some double-sided tape. With the additional help from Mr. Google, i was able to remove the doorpanels: I also recommand to shorten the original wiring harness protection a bit. without that it’s impossible to install it later… You have to install the wire harness extension be removing some pins from some plugs, and add them to the new plugs, etc.…

  • ATENZA: Roof Spoiler Paintshop test

For small work i prefer to bring my stuff for painting to a local paintshop. It’s a Paintshop shared by multiple painters and they do all kind of work. Even if it’s a kind of backyard operation workshop, their work is very professional and the man who paints my stuff is very nice, helpful and experienced too. So just before the end of year i brought my mazda roof spoiler to paint it in 25D Mazda Snowflake white pearl. I thought i’d just leave the paint-code and part to get the work done and pick it up in a few weeks again. But once The painter realized that it’s a…

  • ATENZA: Auto Folding mirror kit arrived

Got a package from the UK Today with a little upgrade for my Mazda 6: The C850-V7-650A Mazda OEM Auto folding mirror kit I know this item was available on higher trim-levels but not on mine. And now it’s not available as an optional upgrade item in switzerland anymore. You may still be able to order it from an local mazda dealership most probably, but i bought it pretty cheap on ebay new and original while browsing through some ads. The kit will automatically fold in the mirrors, once the car is shut down. Since i have to park in a tight spot at my work, i really like the…

  • ATENZA: OEM Roof spoiler arrived

I never had big plans in modifying the Atenza, but somehow the Optional OEM / Mazdaspeed (depending on the catalogue you look at) bigger roof spoiler has been floating around in my mind for a while, so when i saw a new one for sale for a good price i went and grabbed it: i made a little test-mockup too. Before (Standard roof spoiler) New bigger one. needs to be painted before installation, of course… Now this is not only a styling-item but also an useful thing. Since i drive my car mostly on the autobahn from and to work this might come in handy. According to the 2015 japanese…
