First you have to apply a lot of various sized seals and gaskets: Then it was time to remove the inner Trunk cover. Just before christmas i got my automated Folding mirror Kit. An OEM Mazda accessory piece, which came installed from factory in some trim levels and some versions. The kit kontains of some sort of a relay, a little wiring-harness extension, some zip-ties and an additional plug, plus the manual and some double-sided tape. With the additional help from Mr. Google, i was able to remove the doorpanels: I also recommand to shorten the original wiring harness protection a bit. without that it’s impossible to install it later… You have to install the wire harness extension be removing some pins from some plugs, and add them to the new plugs, etc.…

For small work i prefer to bring my stuff for painting to a local paintshop. It’s a Paintshop shared by multiple painters and they do all kind of work. Got a package from the UK Today with a little upgrade for my Mazda 6: The C850-V7-650A Mazda OEM Auto folding mirror kit I know this item was available on higher trim-levels but not on mine. And now it’s not available as an optional upgrade item in switzerland anymore. After i realized i cannot afford to modify three cars at the same time, i decided to keep my daily driver as it is and not throw all my money at it. I better concetrate on my other projects. Yeah, i managed to address something long-overdue before christmas holidays and now got it fixed. At some point last year, something hit me or i hit something or whatever happened ( i dont know). Just one day i realized there’s an ugly dent in the front i haven’t noticed before. Long story short the Insurrance company directed me to their local partner to get it fixed. Last week i got a phone call from my Dealer that i will recceive a letter from Mazda switzerland soon, telling me that i would get some free new trunk gate dampers, due to a recall. Read more about the recall here I digged a bit deeper and it seems like supplier of the gas shocks “Showa” of Japan had a big batch of faulty dampers which they would replace for free. They were also installed on a series of Nissans and other cars. So i went there and got a set of new dampers installed within 15minutes. Great service 🙂 Old ones: No corrosion visible.
