ATENZA: Back from repair

Shortly after i brought my car for damage repair, i got it back. I was surprized how fast those guys where. So what they had to do was fix the rear hatch door and paint it new, replace the right hand taillight and replace the complete rear bumper incl sensors.

What they additionally had to do was paint both rear doors, both rear quarters, the repaired hatch and rear bumper. additionally to the roof spoiler. This is a win for me because i had the Maszdaspeed roof spoiler painted by a local paintshop and the hue was slightly off. now it fits much better! From my unprofessional point-of-view they did an excellent and quick job and you can’t see any damage.

What they were not able to do, was of course the rear emblem which wasn’t original. it is a JDM “Atenza” emblem. vs the “Mazda 6” emblem placed in europe.
I had originally decided to not replace the atenza emblem, but the same day i was in front of my friends car and he told me he did not recognize me because the Atenza emblem was gone. Well. time to get it again.
I had to order one from Japan, naturally, but DHL express was quick to deliver it a few days later:

And today i installed it back in it’s iriginal location:

Happy to have the car back in almost-new shape. Of course an accident is always a bummer, but i think all went away with big luck. This is my daily driver and i always expect it to take some damage in the hassle of daily travels.
I don’t know what’s going on at the moment, but a few days ago, almost another car hit me from the side, by ignoring my priority right-of-way on a crossroads. Luckily he realized it mid-way and was able to brake before he hit me.
I hope the situations improves again soon. At least it is said that white cars are the ones least involved in crashes, so i stay with my white cars. Let’s hope these are the last repairs needed for many years.
