OTHER: Car Spotting Hawaii 2014 (O’Ahu & Big Island)
Sorry for the lack of updates, but i had some lack of vacation and therefore spent the last two weeks with my girlfriend in a beautiful Paradise called hawaii. I always carried my cam with me and spotted some pretty cool rides. so every now and then i shot one of them for you, my dear reader π As you might know Hawaii is a Part of the USA with a close relationship to japan and because of that you’ll find many nice japanese cars over there. here’s a small selection of a few random sights of Hawaii π
Let’s start of with our rental car we had in Big island. A simple but nice-to-drive Ford Mondeo. Too bad the majority of US-Cars are automatic transmission but anyway. Was a good car π
At a trip to The “green sand beach” on Big island we had this nise 280ZX driving in front of us. Seemed to be some daily used car. pretty cool sight π
At one point i had this modified silvia S14 in front of me. They where pretty a lot of them but this one in particular was the nicest one for me π
The most common sight however were these kind of Toyota or Ford pickups with some surfer dudes or fishing gear / work tools carried around. I like these pickups as you don’t see them too much in switzerland π
This Honda Fit / Jazz was our second rental car. Not the fastest car on earh but also pretty nice ride and a good daily car i think. We used this one to get to the big waves on the O’Ahu north shores π
Well and then you have these Food-trucks almost every few hundred meters along any bigger highway, selling delicious and cheap food. Yummy!!! And i also liked the style of these cars. some where decorated pretty cool π
Another uncommon sight for a swiss guy as we only got the older generations eclipses π
And A Car i liked pretty much: A newer gen IS with some air runner gear and Cool JDM wheels.
Then i spotted this Ferrari F1 Replica in the Honolulu / Waikiki Ferrari flagship store. Seemed like it wasnt the real deal but onlyΒ a glass fiber copy, but cool anyway i think π
What i enjoyed most car-related was seeing all the USDM Honda’s / Acuras which we only get in different form or not at all. kinda cool to see all the small differences, Models and stuff π
Oh and don’t forget a proper Coke-truck in the USA π
At one point i saw this nice TRD Celica picking up a girl in a parking lot. Not often you get to see these cars nowadays here but i absolutely love them π
If you’re in hawaii it’s pretty common to see a nice hot rod every now and then cruising the City streets of Honolulu at the weekend evenings π
Then as there live a lot of japanese people there you’ll see some small JDM Inspired kei-cars every now and then. this is what i believe a scion xB / Toyota bB but im not sure π
And another USDM Honda Accord / Acura TL π
Hope to get some work done on my cars again soon. have a big delivery on it’s way here from Japan π
