240Z: Details about a 240Z Rallye fuel injection “experimental” setup
Some of you more geeky readers might know that Nissan used to experiment with some electric fuel injection system in some of their works rallye cars. OTHER: Vintage Datsun sticker load delivery
Over the last couple of days, i found a few interesting and some more-or-less rare vintage datsun stickers for sale in switzerland, which i naturally had to get. Some of them are quite regularly sold, but came in a lot, so i had to get all of them. I will try to sell some of the doubles i have. EVENT: Japanclassic 21.05.2023 – New location!
Save the date! The “Japaner Young and Oldtimertreffen” goes into the 13th round. On the 21.05.2023 it will happen, this time in a new (but not so far away) location. The Meilenstein location seems really cool. i’m excited to be there. I’m also thinking about making a small booth to sell some random stuff i have laying around. Anyway. 240Z: 1973 & 1979 Service Data & specification booklets
Recently a Datsun Friend introduced me to the “Service Data and specification” booklets, which i was unaware of before. Naturally i had to investigate, and luckily i found one for sale online. Strangely i have only ever seen the earlier versions in a mixed english / Spanish language print so far. However when i checked out my friend’s DSSA parts lot recently, it also included a bunch of 1979 version booklet in german: The 1979 version only includes the S130, so the following pages are from the 1973 version with some pictures of the S30 stuff. OTHER: Honda dealer sign restauration, pt. 3 & Installation
So, after we left with a finished Sign on the table in part two, it was time to install it somewhere. I wasn’t sure where to put it. So i tested it in various positions. My initial plan to have it close to the Honda proved to be not the best location, because of the low ceiling height in that area. 240Z: Datsun Suisse SA Triple Weber setup and 1973 test report!
The recent lot find, constinsting of many datsun Switzerland items, also contained a very cool one-off thing: A set of triple Weber carbs complete with Intake manifold and linkage. But the really cool part is that it came including an internal test report by Datsun (Suisse) SA, indicating that this very setup was used by Datsun Suisse SA (DSSA) to test said setup on a company or employee Datsun 240Z. The hand written notes are written on a DSSA “Internal report” sheet. something rarely seen alone.
