• PLACE: A Visit to the Mazda Classic Museum Frey in Augsburg

Over the last days, my job led me to visit the bavarian area of Germany by car. It was a 4,5 hour roadtrip each way and while planning my route, i figoured out i’m driving by Augsburg. Suddenly i remembered that lately there opened a Mazda museeum in Augsburg. So a bit of googling and a little detour on my way home and finally i was there: The building is a former Tram-depot in the middle of the city, beautifully restored and worth a visit itself. But inside is where all the glory is going on 🙂 Mr. Frey, who was one of the first to Import mazda to germany,…

  • RACE: Hillclimb Bergrennen Oberhallau 2017

To be honest i’m not following motorsports too much of, but i love it and whenever the circus comes to town i try to get my dose of Ethanol fumes and the smell of burnt rubber for the year 🙂 The hillclimb of Oberhallau is part of various racing series which attend every year. As most of hillclimb its pretty dangerous and you find everything from amateur racers to full-on pro’s with unlimited budget and crazy cars. I went there this past sunday and unfortunately i was a bit late to the party so it was a bit hard to get good photographing spots. First i started at the starting…

  • RACE: Bergrennen Oberhallau Hillclimb 26. / 27. August 2017

I don’t do any ads for others but since this is the one well known (and very close to my home) Hillclimb race of international calibre, i’d like to support them since i know a lot of people who work there as volunteers and it’s a lot of free work they provide for the event. If you’re interrested in HIllclimb racing and near, come to oberhallau next weekend and enjoy the big variety of racecars on track. From showlaps in rare classics, drift demos to the serious racing with laps of the swiss hillclimb cup, european KW Berg-cup (with the very well known cars), race-taxi, Formula-cars, open-wheelers and around 400…

  • EVENT: 50 Years Toyota Switzerland exhibition at Emil Frey Classic cars

This year “Emil Frey”, the holding which also owns toyota switzerland is celebrating 50 Years of toyota Switzerland. They have a special “classic Car” center in a beautifully restored old industrial building. Normally they have changing exhibitions from the various brands they import, but this time around one floor was dedicated to Toyotas of all ages. A reason to go, me and my buddy Daniel thought, and hopped into his awesome RHD Prodrive P1 Impreza Coupe: After entrance there is a small shop with clothes and various goodies celebrating all their brands:  There is a “used car” shop too (with some nice classics) but i’ll focus on that in a…

  • SHOW: Japan Young- and Oldtimermeeting Bleienbach, 2017

Yesterday i paid a visit to the always great Japanese Young and oldtimermeeting in Bleienbach (Switzerland). It seems like it’s getting bigger and better every year. The great weather brought people from as far away as a 6 hour drive to the show all the way form germany! I met a lot of nice people, old friends and got some new contacts. Fun as ever and a great diversity and selection of cars. But i guess the pictures talk for themselves so here’s the gallery – enjoy! And thanks to the organizers for a great, relaxed and laid back show as ever! I guess this is the best Japanese show…

  • RACE: Bergrennen Oberhallau 2016

This time i went to the local Hillclimb Race (Bergrennen) at the small village of Oberhallau close to my home. With burning sun, sunscream on the camera-lens, a dozen of umbrellas in front of me and wrong settings on the camera i wasn’t really in big Documentary and photographer mode. But still i’d like to share a few highlights from sunday with you. Please don’t mind the bad Picture quality 🙂 BTW, that certain Hakosuka in th e pictures i will talk about in a later post. i’m in contact with the owner since a few weeks i guess, but still need confirmation it’s his car and then probably will…

  • OTHER: The Cars of Sweden & My first Mantorp Park experience

Since i have a lot of family, friends and relatives in sweden it’s kind of a tradition for me to go there at least every second year to visit all of them. It’s also tradition to go there by car. While it’s not the most confortable way it’s definetely the most fun way to get there. On the way to my final destination around Västerås in Västmanland, i like to stop once or twice at a camping place (usually at a place i haven’t been before) to explore new places. Well and since we made 4500km’s in two weeks i thought the mazda would be the best choice of car…
