• 240Z / HISTORY: Datsun Switzerland & Jeff turner memorabilia

A while ago i got in contact with an super friendly elderly lady who used to own a Body- and Paint shop on the Premises of Datsun (Suisse) SA in Urdorf. The company was not related to DSSA, but they worked closely together. She handled warranty repairs for DSSA and worked on special cases for them. For example did she install the first 240Z spoilers and mirror after the cars arrived from Japan. She also got invited to some of their company events and therefore has loads of stories and memorabilia. We talk every now and then, and out of the blue i got a box in my mail yesterday.…

  • HISTORY: Honda Switzerland 1982-2001 Pricelists (free download)

Lately i had the opportunity to acquire a load of more-or-less rare pricelists from Honda switzerland. If you have a collect-worthy Honda sold in the period of 1985 to 2001 in Switzerland, it’s of course to have the original sales price on hand. For insurance reason, or justfor curiosity. Therefore i decided to scan them all for you in high-res OCR and have them on this site for free download. Click the links below the following picture to download the corresponding pricelist. 1982 June: Honda Switzerland Price 1982.06 www.JDMjunkies.ch 1985 March: Honda Switzerland Price 1985.03 www.JDMjunkies.ch 1986 March: Honda Switzerland Price 1986.03 www.JDMjunkies.ch 1989 March: Honda Switzerland Price 1989.03 www.JDMjunkies.ch…

  • 240Z: Vintage 240Z & Datsun Magazines Lot arrived

Recently i managed to get hands on a massive lot of vintage Datsun / Z & ZX club magazines and memorabilie. The value of those is questionable, since it’s mostly not official Datsun / Nissan, but still a nice piece of history. and i bet those have become rare. I don’t know yet what to do with those, but i’m definitely going through them one by one over the winter days and maybe put them up for sale in different packages. So what did i get? Aside from a few accessories catalogues and aftermaket parts catalogues, tuning brochures, etc. There’s the british Z Club magazine, the Classic Z Register monthly…

  • OTHER: 240K-GT (Kenmary) & Datsunologie Brochures

Lately i found two nice swiss datsun brochures for sale again, and naturally, i had to get them: The first one is the Datsun 240K-GT (Known as the Nissan Skyline “Kenmary” or “Yonmeri” in other countries) bruchure from August 1973, and i just wanted to have it because of the rare “sports car” nostalgy. The second brochure, i wanted to have especially, because i’ve never seen them before and because it is a bit unique, comapred to the other datsun brochures. There is no production date on it, but i assume it is from the same 1973-ish era, by the cars featured. The “Datsunoligy” made-up word here used to describe…

  • HISTORY: 1976 Datsun Suisse full lineup catalogue

I was on holidays for two weeks, and when i returned, i had something in my mailbox which i had ordered just before i packed my stuff and left the house. A may 1976 Datsun (suisse) SA sales brochure. Something i haven’t seen before. Some catalogues pop up quite frequently and some are more rare but this on i haven’t seen at all yet, so i had to get it. It is quite special for many reasons. First of all the format, which is a pretty small pocket size format versus the usual much bigger format. Then the paper, which is just regaluar paper and not the usually used glossy…

  • HISTORY: Honda Civic “Hot-S”

Recently i stumbled on a vintage Honda Ad for sale online. which was called the: Honda Civic Hot “S” version. I was quite surprised to see that there was a version modified by Honda switzerland sold long before all the EK4 special versions (known as F1, Rallye and Type-S). This represents a 2nd. gen “SL” chassis After digging a bit deeper, it seems the hatchbacks then got an additional roof and front spoiler, reclining “sports” seats, vented brake discs, additional stabilizer bars, additional racing stripes, and Aluminum wheels, etc.. To be honest i was a bit hyped to see loosely relative sports version of a civic related to my EK9…

  • HISTORY: Rare FMG / Datsun Suisse Internal documents arrived

Today i got a special delivery of documents which i’ve never seen before and didn’t even know something like this existed, until i found them for sale a few days ago: One is a double-sided FMG (Fehlmann Motor group) brochure, which tells the story of the company. Datsun (Suisse) SA was also part of the FMG. One side tells the story from the past to the present (in 1972) While the other side tells the plans for today and the future: Inside you’ll find many rare photos and information, like the first datsun’s arriving at Datsun Switzerland in Urdorf by train: Or the Group Owner E. Fehlmann Junior in front…

This is the sixth part of a multi-post series about the (hi)story of Datsun, Prince and Nissan in switzerland.  Check out the other parts HERE. In this post we have a closer look at the work of the Marketing department at DSSA. Including advertizing, sales brochures, customer information, Promotional giveaways, Public relations, exhibitions and press releases from the very beginning to the early nineties. As usual with these posts, it includes many rare and yet unseen documents and photos. 1. • HISTORY: Prince Motor Corp. PMC Mikado Swiss brochures

The story of the Prince Motor Corp aka PMC-Mikado in switzerland is quite short-lived and therefore information about it pretty rare. In order to update my story about the company (see here: https://www.jdmjunkies.ch/wordpress/2021-07-14/history-the-datsun-nissan-prince-switzerland-story-pt-1-prince/) i’m always looking for official swiss documents. When i just recently stumbled upon a few catalogues for sale, i naturally had to get them. This means i will also update above post about the History of PMC Mikado in switzerland immediately. The first one is a brochure about the PMC Gloria Six 2000, which i’ve owned only as a scan so far, and i’ve shown you in full in above link previously. The second one  i haven’t…

  • HISTORY: Datsun Switzerland 1968 and 1979 Brochure

In my never-ending task to uncover the complete history of Datsun (Suisse) SA in Switzerland, i try to collect all the annual catalogues of the Datsun-years. Meanwhile i got quite the collection, but there are still some  holes. Luckily i was able to obtain another two pieces which were missing. Today a set from 1968 and 1979 arrived here: This is my collection meanwhile (+ this one, which is framed, so i couldn’t get it on the picture). Now i hope to find some rare ones from the early 70ies (the 240Z years), which are still missing and i haven’t really seen so far.
