EVENTS: Bergrennen Oberhallau 2026 Mega gallery

As usual around this time of the year you’ll find me at the local Bergrennen Oberhallau hillclimb. This year I attend again on sunday when the event was in full swing. Despite a few accidents which caused the usual delays, it was packed with a great variety of cars from the NSU cup, to the German KW BergCup, to Interswiss, to the full-on open wheelers and race cars. Historics, Renault cup and much more.

What I love abou this event is how laid-back everything is. The pits are usually in some tent on a field or in someones backyard or barn, Families attend with their kids to enjoy the sunny weather, sausage and some smell of race fuel, and this all mixes up with the diehard race fans who travel from far away to watch the action. Despite only being roughtly 3km of track the constant action and wide variety of cars always makes it a must.

The harsh sunlight at noon made it difficult to take good photos, but I tried my best with my crappy old camera, and of course I tried to catch all the Japanese cars. plenty of civics, a nice Integra, two AE86’s and – no surprize – many new Toyota GR Yaris mixed in all those classic VW’s, Opel’s, NSU’s and whatever has four wheels.
