240Z: Mixed documents & Parts from Japan and the USA
I’ve been shopping. Again. And this month’s delivery from Japan and the USA looks like this:

It’s as usual a bit of a “mixed bag” with random stuff that I find and think is useful for my collection, and then some Stuff which I really was looking for, for a while.
The first thing are two spare parts price list books from Nissan JP from the early 80ies, which also include the S30 parts. Completely useless, but I really liked their design and they were cheap:

Then, also from Japan an S130 “New Product” information news flash. Basically, an Information to dealers about the new S130 with technical details, all the variants, specifications, options, etc.
Recently, I’ve been digging a bit deeper into the Story of Nissan Shatai and the involvement in the 240Z production. And I found some nice books about their history. The content of useful information is quite limited, but these books often hold the key to further understanding how the S30’s were produced, back then, and how the different operations were linked together. Plus they give you a general understanding how things evolved quickly at that time, and how those plants operated including a lot of cultural background with a Japanese point of view:

I also got a Checkman “Imola” steering wheel plus two RS-Mach Checkman reproduction horn button logos and a Checkman exhaust / Manifold advertising for the S30. I bought the wheel to replace my old “Raid” steering wheel on the wall.

I know it’s too modern for the S30, but still better than that crappy plastic wheel. I hope to find a period correct one though, which I can afford.
Again some Solex Japan manuals. This time for a friend of mine. But additionally, I also got some S20 engine related Mikuni / Solex information which I didn’t have before. And they also came with some cool additional pages about the Sanyo Kiki L6 “SK-sports” kit.

From the USA, I got a cool training document, with some funny notes. Plus some bulletins, which are related to the emission control system, used in US-spec S30 cars.
And then, I finally found a complete Nissalco Toolbox book / manual, for my original Nissalco 240Z tool box. I always only had the one on the left with missing pages, but somehow, I managed to find a complete one (on the right).
I also found a set of Overfenders. I thought they were original, and the price was low, so I ended up giving a very low bid. Nobody else bid on it, so I won the auction. but now that I have them here, it appears they’re aftermarket items. Anyway, I’ll hang them on the wall, somewhere 🙂

While searching for the Checkman wheel, I also came across this old Checkman gauge, completely NOS in original box with all accessories. I thought this will make a nice piece to decorate my garage.
The price was low, and it’snot very often you come across something like this:

That’s it for now. I hope to spend some time in the garage with the car on Saturday, and I have some exciting and rare parts on the way, which should arrive here in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
