EVENT: S30.world Japan tour pt. 6 – Car spotting & Goodbye
Day 8: Car spotting & Goodbye
While some extended their stay to visit some friends and family, my time in Japan ended on the 8th day early in the morning with a healthy and delicious Japanese hotel breakfast:
Once I’ve said goodbye to everyone, I headed through the Nissan Gallery passage one last time in direction Yokohama Shin station, where they were showing a video of the Z development (and other cars), which was quite fitting for the end.
I took the Airport Limousine express bus to the Airport, which gave be a hazy but nice view of the Yokohama Bay Bridge:
I made sure to grab some nice magazines before boarding my flight and leave Japan behind.
Bute before we close the topic, I’d like to highlight a few cars we randomly spotted on our journey. It started with a good sign at the Airport in Switzerland, where this model of a Honda / Racing Bulls F1 car was exhibited at the Tudor Watch booth:
We also spotted this HKS Kansai modified Altezza (aka Lexus IS200) in a random parking lot:
Along our travels we spotted many great cars on the road, like a proper dekotora truck and – a personal highlight for me – an EK9 on the Osaka Kanjo highway loop, but sadly most photos ended up like this. Once I had my camera ready, the cars were all gone.
Nevertheless I managed to grab some cool shots, like this S15 spec-R Silvia with an MR-2 parked behind:
During our Road trip with the Fairlady Z owners, we spotted this Nice S200 parked at the dam, where we took a short break to regroup:
We also spotted this JZX100 chaser in a parking lot, with some questionable modifications:
In front of our hotel, this nice Toyota Century luxury car was parked.
And another day, this cool Toyota Land Cruiser:
We had to grin a little when we saw the “Bayside Blue” bus in Yokohama. Those who know, know:
Cars like this were basically everywhere.
The Porsche Dealership in Yokohama, Kanagawa had some photo shooting going on with a race car when we passed by, so I snapped a quick pic:
This nice Godzilla R32 GR-R was spotted in Akihabara district on the road:
And every now and then you were greeted by something unexpected:
I think this is a Karmann Ghia? Sorry for the burry photo:
Of course also the rolling billboards is something you don’t see outside of Japan:
They look especially cool once lit up fully at night:
A car I really like is a nice modified Toyota Hiace:
We also enjoyed seeing a Crown police car with the detached Signal lighting on top:
Obviously, Japan is also the land of strange cars, like this “rusty” Kei car:
While waiting at RS-Watanabe, I snapped some photos of their shop and employee cars:

We also enjoyed the view of this Pikachu school bus in the wild:
One of the rarer sights was this Subaru Legacy B4 station wagon “Blitzen” edition.
Blitzen is kind of a Works’ tuner of Subaru. So this is kind of the highest spec Legacy Wagon you can get with very nice modifications.
While waiting for our entrance to the Zama warehouse, t his Roadster / MX-5 passed by:
And on the way back home from RS-Watanabe we spotted this Liberty Walk / LB-Works Daihatsu Copen GT-K “Baby GT-R”:
It’s one of those quirky little things you hardly see outside of Japan.
And I close the Japan journey posts with this last photo of a Nissan Fuga with some tasteful mild modifications.
Thanks for joining the fun, and let’s get back to the usual car modification stories again.
