EVENT: Japanclassic.ch 2025 review

For me, it all started pretty badly, but luckily it turned out pretty cool at the end. Well, first the team from the Netherlands could not make it to the event, despite it having a shared booth with S30.world. Which meant that the parts for display and sales plus the main act – one of their beautifully restored cars – was missing at our booth. So I had to remove the S30.world parts from my car again just the day before the event, and luckily we had Urs to bring his car for display last-minute. Thanks again for that, I owe you a huge favor.
But then also the weather forecast was pretty bad, and my Booth got moved to the inside of the venue, away from all the cars. Despite the circumstances, I loaded my car with all the stuff, and when we arrived an hour before the opening, the event was already cranking up, so we hurried to get our booth set up.

Luckily, the weather didn’t turn out that bad at all. So with me expecting zero spectators, I was quite surprised how buzzing the whole event was. Over the Whole day. Honestly I wasn’t able to leave my booth for a minute, because constantly people came to say hi, look at the S30.world stuff and buy one or another thing too! At the end I barely was able to look at the cars, so forgive me if the photos are just from a quick run around the place.

The weather changed in the afternoon, which meant that during the short rain showers the first cars left, but also more spectators came inside. There were visitors from Belgium, from Kuwait, from Germany, Portugal and all over Switzerland, and I had great discussions, despite the language barrier, sometimes.

After all it was a great day and when we finally had our booth packed up, we decided to have the most awesome proper Italian Pasta dinner with my wife at the Meilenstein location (definitely worth a visit itself, if you’re a car head!)

Huge thanks to Dani and his wife for providing me much-needed coffee and Stefan and his Family for always being a great company, despite we barely could exchange two sentences that day. It’s great to be around such nice guys! And a very special thanks goes to the lovely Myrtha, who even brought along a few former Datsun Switzerland employees, just to say hi! Special thanks go to Urs for preparing and bringing his car last minute, and of course also thanks to Heiko and his team for making this all happening every year, and bringing all the community together!
