240Z: Hood ornament holes back in – & Car drying towel
The previous owner of my Z thought it was a brilliant idea to “clean” all the emblems, holes and other stuff from the body. so this is what my hood looked like: For reference, this is what it should look like, with the two holes to install the Datsun Hood ornament (my spare hood shown): So i got to work and marked and drilled back the holes in the original location: The result turned out perfect (ornement not pushed completely in in th ephoto, so i could remove it again, but the the holes fit perfectly) I also gave it a layer of primer, to protect the holes from rust,…

OTHER: MB-Click vs Swissclick Numberplate mounts
The Meta algorithm has been pushing out ads for sleek number plate mounts a lot recently , so the idea of “invisible” number plate mounts has been growing on me in the past few months. In Switzerland, you can have the same set of numberplates for multiple cars, means you have to switch them regularly if you own more than one car. That is a really nice system, but requires special number plate mounts to easy move number plates from one to another car without a lot of hassle. Over many years the “Swissclick” or similar brand has been everybody’s favourite. they come in a many colours, are easy to…

EK9: Cleaning the seats and OEM seat restauration soon
Soo, a while ago i bought this tool. the “Bissell Spot clean heat pro”. Basically a wet vacuum cleaner with integrated water / cleaning spray. To be honest i wanted to go for a cheap option and test it furst, but i should have gone for something more expensive. the “heating” is more or less inexistent, and i expexted it to bea more of a “steam” cleaner like in those proffessionall videas, but nevertheless, i have tried it a few times now on home-furniture and it works. Not brilliantly, but it works. When i recently drove the EK9, i realized how dirty the EK9 seats have become and thought…

PLACES: Our 2083km Roadtrip through Norway and Sweden
With a two year delay, thanks to a certain virus, we finally were able to make our long-ago planned roadtrip through scandinavia. Some might know that i have family roots there and i travel to sweden quite often, but this time, we decided to visit norway too, because i heard so many good things about it. And we didn’t get dissapointed a bit 🙂 The trip was more or less split into five sections Part 1: 4 days of city sight-seeing in Oslo (NO) Part 2: A travel to VästerÃ¥s (SE) including two nighs there Part 3: A visit to my Family in Östansjö (SE) with two nights there Part…

EVENT: Cagedude 5th anniversary meet & Open Workshop
This weekend my mate Stefan was celebrating the 5th anniversary of his “Cagedude” workshop. He’s one great fabricator, doing all kind of metalwork for race, street and show cars. I didn’t really expect much. a bunch of people and cars and that’s it. But when i arrived the event was in full swing with much more than everybody expected 🙂 Stefan got a nice selection of customer cars on site. like the “druft punisher” S-chassis with a V8 Hellcat engine! Naturally stefan’s own cars where on display too, and i was happy to see some progress on his Yonmeri / 240K-GT project: Of course i had to check out the…

RACE: The Bergrennen Oberhallau Hillclimb 2022
Due to my absence, covid and other shit, i havent’ been to the Bergrennen oberhallau in a few years. So i was especially excited to go again this year to this local mekka of motorsports. It seems like Japanese cars have become more common in the general hillclimb scene, but some have been around for years, like Ruedi Fuhrer’s F20 (S2000 Engine) Powered CRX: In case of Honda, the usually strong going Integra DC2 group was completely absent this year, for whatever reason, instead there was a strong showing of EVO’s:Â But what i like most of this event us the mix of so many different groups. Within a few…

I really hope i’m recovered from my illness untill saturday, so i can crank up my EK9 and drive it there, to finally get a view of this swiss master fabricator’s cave 🙂 And i’m definitely keen to see the finest selection of vintage “Skyline” datsun’s in switzerland in one place. I’ll sure bring…
