• ATENZA: Optional lowering Springs installed

Now after i’m done with the Japan coverage i’d like to come back to my own projects πŸ˜€ While in Japan i had my car at my Mazda-garage to get some Lowering springs installed. I decided to go for the Dealer-option Eibach springs. They were cheap, i don’t loose the warranty on the car and i know Eibach is a good quality product. Also it’s a daily driver so i didn’t want it too low for usability and not too expensive. Before: After: The lowering is about 30mm. Probably not really visible in the pictures, but i think it has a good impact on the overall look of the car…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 9 – Nissan, Daihatsu & Suzukis

Welcome to the last part of my TAS ’16 showcase. Nissan, Daihatsu and Suzuki. Nissan Honestly one of the once biggest Sportscarmaker in Japan doesn’t really have something big in the lineup currently. Aside from the GT-R which was a huge success at the show most nissans were older cars or slightly modified daily cars. So it wasn’t a big surprise all non GT-R’s / Skylines were older chassis like the Silvia’s πŸ™‚ Here two nice Dorifto S15’s from ZSS-racing Yashio factory brought their 180SX to the show as well as an S15 too.. Car modify Wonder had this nice red example with somehow interresting rear side vents in their…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 8 – Toyota’s

Welcome to part 8 of 9 of my TAS ’16 Coverage. Today we look at the Toyotas. The first thing we saw when we entered the Halls was this Landcruiser by Specialst Flex: Toyota themselves had a huge display with this Concept car: Subsidiary TRD was celebrating their 40th year, so they had this Aqua TRD Edition (used for ECO-rallye!) on their display The new Prius ZVW50 was also a little Hit at t he show so TRD brought a Souped up street version (left) and a full-on SuperGT version. Looks like a legit racecar to me πŸ™‚ Speaking of racecars, WEDS had their legendary Drift Chaser / mark II…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 7 – Lexus and Crown’s

Today we’re going to look at the more exclusive side of Toyota – Lexus and Crown. I decided to split them from the toyota post because too many pictures πŸ™‚ Lexus has really evolved nicely inΒ  Japan since it’s launch a few years ago and the new F-Sport models seemed to be all the rage at TAS. And surprisingly also the toyota Crown limousines – which i somehow didn’t expect πŸ™‚ VIP legend Junction Produce had an RC-F at their booth equipped with their latest Aero and some Airrunner airride system Airrunner themselves also had a Lexus at their booth but the bigger GS-F In General i’d like to say…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 6 – GT-R’s and Skylines

Aside from the two classic Hako’s and one Kenmary Skyline (which i sadly missed) there were a ton of Newer Gen skylines and GT-R’s. Here’s a small selection from what i saw at the Tokyo Auto salon this year πŸ™‚ The guys from Top Secred had not less than 6 Skylines and GT-R’s in their booth, one of them beeing my favourite, the R34 GT-R: Most of the other Cars were new-Gen GT-R’s The silver one showing of a rather wild Bodykit: The white R32 next to it belonged to an American guy who told me he had it custom built for him, will take it back over to the…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 5 – Subaru’s, Mitsubishis, BRZ’s and GT-86’s

In today’s post we’re going to have a look at the Subarus, Mitsubishis and the Toyobarus. And there were surprising many Subarus. And Unsurprisingly a ton of the BRZ’s and GT-86. But Lets start with Mitsubishi. I only saw three of them, but indeed two of the coolest ones. First Worlds fastest Evo, the incredible Garage G-Force / Voltex Time Attack Monster. Next was the rarely-seen, but one of my all time favourite JDM cars. The legendary PitroadM Mitsubishi GTO. A real Horsepower-monster and even cooler because the GTO is somehow a bit underrated and rarely touched. The third one beeing an EvoX in the Hasepro booth: Now on with…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 4 – Classics and Fairlady’s

Today we’re going to look at the classics from the show als well as old an newer generation fairladies. I know i missed some of the cool cars, but if you’ve ever attended TAS you might know that the crazieness just let’s you loos track about everything as soon as you enter the magic halls πŸ™‚ Let’s start with a car i didn’t expect to see at all: A Restored and Slammed Nissan Cedric from Obayashi factory… Fuji speedway was celebrating their 50iest anniversary this year so they had a efw legendary racing cars on Display, as the Prince R380 Or the Toyota 7 The first classic fairlady i swaw…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 3 – Honda’s

Honda had a quite big booth compared to other Automakers, but somehow i got the feeling that the real Sportscar-DNA is missing. Of course there were a ton of Racecars, the New S660 Kei-Roadster and the new Civic Type-R and NSX but i still got the feeling that a proper grown-up Everyday sportscar is missing a bit. But that’s maybe just me.. Let’s start with the honda / Mugen booth: The New Civic TypeR drew some attention but it’s still at a concept phase and there was nothing but some simple aero upgrades… Honda Modulo (A Japanese Accessory subbrand) had some styling bits as well: They Also had a nice…

  • EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 2 – Mazda’s

So Let’s start the TAS ’16 Coverage with Mazda. In comparison to Honda, Toyota or Even Nissan, Mazda is a quite small Automaker in Japan. But it definitly ruled the Show this year at TAS. First of all they had the most Enthusiast-minded cars at their booth. Compared to others which had boring concept car of future transportation, Mazda had the real deal Sportscars there. LM55 Vision GT Real-life anyone? Seriously, How can you not love this car?? Mazda also brought their latest hint on the roatry-future. Their RX-Vision… But the real star of the Show was the lately released MX-5 Roadstar ND. Here by Damd:Β  Or Garage Vary: They…
