EVENT: Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 Part 5 – Subaru’s, Mitsubishis, BRZ’s and GT-86’s
In today’s post we’re going to have a look at the Subarus, Mitsubishis and the Toyobarus. And there were surprising many Subarus. And Unsurprisingly a ton of the BRZ’s and GT-86. But Lets start with Mitsubishi. I only saw three of them, but indeed two of the coolest ones. First Worlds fastest Evo, the incredible Garage G-Force / Voltex Time Attack Monster.
Next was the rarely-seen, but one of my all time favourite JDM cars. The legendary PitroadM Mitsubishi GTO. A real Horsepower-monster and even cooler because the GTO is somehow a bit underrated and rarely touched.
The third one beeing an EvoX in the Hasepro booth:
Now on with the Subarus. Subaru itself had a nice selection of concepts on display. My favourite beeing the supernice BRZ STi Concept:
Wich was standing next to the BRZ SuperGT Racecar:
They also had a WRX VA rallye concept on display, built by SYMS i guess:
And one of the Nürburgring challenge Cars:
Speeking of racecars Mr. Arai himself (Rallye legend) drove his new WRX VA car for some showlaps and drifts in the Outside area:
I don’t know which company had this one on display, but there were several of WRX VA’s, and this one sporting a funky Itasha theme:
While the Marché car showed of some simpler aero additions
The car on the DAMD display was i bit more extreme:
And also the VARIS edition was wearing a lot of aero:
RevYou had some love for the older generation Imprezas:
And i was really happy to see Launsport bringing a first gen GC8 Impreza to the show:
Then let’s go over to the BRZ / GT-86. Despite beeing a few years ald already they still seem to push the industry with a lot of new ideas. Beeing it crazy Aero as from BN-sports:
Simpler stuff as the Yashio Factory car
Craze racecars like this V8 Drift-monster:
Or the UpGarage SuperGT Machine:
Or simpler cars like the one from saitma toyopet:
JUN:
Unknown company:
MSY Garage:
Exedy:
Runduce
Kansai SV (Ex HKS Kansai Service)
Or Avest 🙂
That’s it for today. In the Next installment, let’s have a look at GT-R’s and Skylines 🙂
