OTHER: Visiting the Famous “Autofriedhof Kaufdorf” Car salvage company

My Datsun Buddy Stefan Asked me if i’d like to visit another Car parts salvage company and of course i’m always in for some Interresting parts-digging even if i knew there won’t be any Z-parts. you never know what you find. And mainly the incredible amount of classic car parts attract me even if there isn’t anything to buy 🙂
But first i stopped by Stef’s and manuels garage and had a visit at his projects.
First his incredible soon-to-start Yonmeri Project. Really looking forward to see this project start 🙂

Then his soon to be completed Laurel C30. Looks awesome in my opinion 😉P1150457 - Kopie

and here we have his testefully modified S14. The nicest one in switzerland if you ask me 🙂P1150458 - Kopie

But now lets visit the Scrapyard. It’s a Huge Parts salvage company which is now run in it’s second generation. in the old days they removed all the parts and left the rest of the cars in the yard..

However at one point the Environment saving law changed and the cars had to be removed from the yard due to contamination of the ground with various fluids. They tried to save it under the tag of an Art-gallery but authorities didn’t accept it. Thats why most of the (sometimes really rare ones!) cars are gone. Only a few are save. most in unusable condition but still they are sometimes showed at exhibits. Spot the tree in the Toyota front bumper above 🙂 Or the quite “Natural” Seats in the austin healey sprite below:

However the reason we went there whas parts-hunting. and there were plenty of them.
Bodypanels anyone?

Or how about some taillights?P1150466 - Kopie

maybe you’re looking for a hood or trunk?P1150468 - Kopie

Datsun Dashboards of any kind?P1150470 - Kopie

Or a datsun grille? The problem is most of these parts are from mainstream cars because the cool parts have been bought up by specialists in the past already. However if you dig deep enough you find some cool stuff 🙂P1150471 - Kopie   P1150476 - Kopie

Plenty of boxes with any imagineably kind of part 🙂

I didn’t end up buying anything but stev bought alot of cool parts and some of them will probably end up for sale on his JPspares Facebook page. Like a NOS Mazda RX-3 Taillight?!!P1150478 - Kopie

Or a full set of genuine Nissan Skyline Hakosuka C10 fourdoor Doors (we had all four of them!) + A hood? Plenty of celica and old corolla parts also around. Even found a set of Mint AE86 and AE82 Headlights.P1150479 - Kopie

Even if the owner doesn’t like too much visitors digging around in his parts and even if most of the cars are long gone there’s still plenty to see. Also for Alfa romeo fans and VW Beetle and 80ties toyotas it’s highly recommanded to visit this place if you have the opinion.
