ATENZA: Kenstyle Steering wheel installed
So i have some days off and decided to finally install the Kenstyle steering wheel which has been laying around for some weeks now. After downloading an english service manual to understand the procedures i started with this (Before):
After removing the Negative battery pole and waiting for discharging to complete i was able to remove the airbag with the supplied tool (also works without that tool, to be honest!). Was a bit scared about handling an airbag but was no problem.
Then the rest of the steering wheel had to come off:
Once completed i had to transfer all the chrome-style-trims, the buttons and the rear plastic covers to the new kenstyle steering wheels. i broke one of the plastic latches but no problem the Engineering quality is really good from mazda so that one missing latch is no problem.
Once completed i reinstalled everyting and using some safety “glue” on the bolts:
And this is the result. After re-setting the tire pressure sensors and power windows i made sure that airbag-functions are ok and everything works well. perfect. I’m happy with it. Specially because of the OEM Look. exactly what i was looking for 🙂
