FRIENDS: Introducing Stev’s 1973 Skyline 240K-GT Yonmeri Project
If there is one guy in the swiss car community that shares the same ideas and ideology like me, then it must be stev. It’s rare to find nice and helpful guys within this small scene and even more rare when they’re likminded too 😀 He’s been super helpful in many occasions and i try to help whenever i can. So when digging through parts at various places in the past he found a lot of old skyline parts. A car which has been sold in switzerland but honestly never was really popular and soon disapeared again.
After finding many parts he came up with the idea to buy a shell for all the parts and go for a full rebuild. I thought he was just dreaming loud as i do often. But i was sure if there is one guy to make the dream come real it would be him!
A few months ago he visited me and told me he found a fitting shell in Portugal and will go and pick it up during easter holiday. Man what a project 😀
And as said on easter monday i found this pictures on his facebook profile of him and a few friends driving 51hours with his estima / Previa and a trailer to portugal and houling the car back home 4300km’s to switzerland!
I talked to him and made sure i’ll be able to update the project on this blog every now and then to make sure you know whats up 😀 I haven’t seen it in real by now but need to change that soon. All i know is the car looks great from the pictures (way better then my fairladies *lol*) and he has collected a lot of parts already so this will be a super rare and a killer car for sure when done!

In meiner Lehre als Automonteur bei Nissan, 1998 – 1992 hatten wir einen in der Kundschaft, dies war damals mein Lieblingskunde 🙂
Ich hab mich einige Zeit später mal um den Wagen bemüht, aber leider erfolglos. Der Besitzer war mittlerweile verstorben und das Auto verschwunden… vermutlich “entsorgt”.
Cool das jemand ein solches Projekt in Angriff nimmt… bin gespannt.

Hehe das glaub ich dir sofort. Leider werden solche Raritäten in der Schweiz oft schräg angeschaut anstatt geschätzt. Passiert leider viel zu oft das coole Autos “verschwinden”. Bin seit jahren an einem AE86 eines älteren Herren drann, aber der will ihn nicht hergeben und wer weiss was mit dem alten Corolla passiert wenn der Herr die Erde verlässt… Schade drumm.
Der stefan mit dem Yonmeri hat übrigens einen Ausgezeichneten Auto-Geschmack, neben einem S14 und einem älteren RX-7 hat er auch noch diesen Laurel C30:

Damals war ein alter Japaner schlicht kein thema, es konnte sich niemand vorstellen das jemand sows will. Ist eben schon einige Jahre her.
Bleib darn am AE86, wenn der Mann weiss das es Fan’s davon gibt entwickelt sich die Sache vielleicht anders 😉
