FRIENDS: Family cars of sweden :-)

Lately i went to sweden to attend at my cousin’s wedding and visit some friends and family members. and of course i had my camera with me. And because the guys in sweden are pretty damn hardcore car nuts and have crazy fabrication skills i for sure found a few nice cars:
RHD Impreza Coupe with Prodrive P1 wing i found somewhere around göteborg on a random burger-king parking 😀

next car walked into was this modified S2000 AP1 on a parking spot on the beautiful Island of Tjörn. more exactly in a little town called Rönnäng.P1080732

But the biggest bunch of cars i’ve been knowing for a while now, parked around on my grandparents yard:P1080863

My granddad who sadly passed away a few years ago left a pretty impressive garage and looking at the lathe, welder and other stuff sitting in the barn’s workshop makes me feel a bit saad. It seems waiting for someone to come back and use it to create some crazy spare parts for any kind of machinery like he used to do. or even fabricate some wild stuff…P1080864

behind the lathe this oldschool motorcycle was hanging on the wall and it somehow looked like it belongs there as an artwork.P1080865

on the other side of the workshop there was this old Jaguar, which i believe my uncle has planned to restore since many years. but not shure to whom it actually belongs and if there are any plans to get it back to the streets once again…P1080866

Behind the Jag there was this car sitting around. believe it’s an austin healy sprite, but nut sure. Think this one also belongs to some uncle but not really sure…P1080867

a car i haven’t seen before was this nice Volvo. An addition lately made by my cousin and gently waiting for a restoration behind….P1080870

…. this beauty. An Airplan (Jodel D18 Custom) which my Granddad and uncle built at home and made my granddad somewhat a bit of a celebrity in the swedish flight-community 🙂 My Uncle is currently doing some maintenance and i’m happy it’s still used 🙂P1080871
On my way back home i passed hundreds of US-Cars (no pictures, sorry) on the streets which went to one of europe’s biggest US-cars meeting in Arboga (i think, at least). was pretty cool to see al the customs, hotrods, and muscle-cars as well as dozens of new-gen US-cars out there 🙂 That’s it, more updates on my cars and other stuff soon 🙂

Wow, nice trip!!. Now I see from where you got the “restoration virus” it is deep within your roots. Great cars in your family. Keep the photos coming!!!! Cheers!

haha yeah, a few cars have been completeted by my family members before, and there are still some more stored in the weeds behind the garage, but where unaccessable. really nice collection. like every country with a lot of space and barns a lot of oldschool machinery can be found as real barn-finds 😀
