240Z: Driver’s door completely stripped
Yeah i know it’s not too interesting to see a lot of posts about how i unbolt a few screws from the door. but at the end it’s just those small things that need a lot of attention and make the difference between a cheap and a quality build. I’ve seen the “Desert car kings” tv-show now a few times and i have to say the cars look great, but at the end it’s still just a cheap and fast restoration and all the small things were kept untouched 🙂
Now to the project:
1) Started off with removing the drivers side door handle (Shot from inside)
Removed:
2) removed the locking mechanism:
and the Inner door handle:
3) here you see the complette handle/locking/unlocking hardware removed – it’s quite dirty so that might be the reason why it didn’t vork wery well..
4) Finally a completely stripped drivers side door 🙂
5) had some time left, so i started to remove the window handle on the co-driver’s side:
6) And that rubber weather-sealing you’ve seen on the drivers side a few posts ago too..

that’s it – hope i’ll be able to post another update soon 🙂

These are the little things that pay off in the end!
By the way if you’re planning on getting your car blasted i would suggest just blasting the body. All the other panels, i.e. hatch, doors, hood, could easily warp from the pressure and heat the sandblasting creates. Trust me 🙁

Thanks for the INfo 🙂 The car will be sandblasted at a very z-experienced bodyshop, so im pretty sure it will be done right, but first i’ll need to save some money.. thanks and keeping following your blog 🙂
