and the cam gear:

2) finally i was able to remove the cylinder head:

I’m no specialist on this, but i feel the pistons look quite a bit “burnt” but not really damaged or something. Also it doesn’t look like it has been honed or something. Looks quite original inside:

3) Same thing on the cylinder head side:

4) Then removed the cylinder head gasket. all of the gaskets feel really brittly and shit:

also you can see more of that nasty old water-shit inside the cooling channels. need to figure out how i can clean it. maybe some ultrasonic-bath or something:

5) then removed what must be the oil pump:

6) the crank seal

7) and finally the timing cover:

Chain & Chain tensioner removed:

10) and finally removed that “primary oil filter” and cleand all from old gasket-pieces, grease, oil and stuff:

2) then started with the crank pulley not (actually i allready did this last time..)

But somehow distroyed the ratchet (probably there was too much force with me )

Anyway – i got it off:

Then started to remove the headbults as metioned in the service manual using this “IKEA” type tool plus a rubber hammer:

But then figured out to reach all of the head studs i need to remove this pipe first:

Which had some crazy corroded stuff inside:

And then had all of the bolts off. Need to get a new ratched to get the cam gear off and then i s hould be able to remove the entire cylinder head:

Well looked quite messy inside. with some probably 10 year old water inside…

But after a quick cleanup it looked way better:

2) Next was the water pipe (not sure if this is the inlet or outlet pipe..)

3) and third that “chain cover” (not sure what it’s really called ):

4) then off with the engine mounts:

5) Next was the Crank pulley which reffering to the manual just have to bee pulled of using a special tool.

… So i thought it also might work with a ball joint / Bearing removal tool.. but then i only broke the pulley.. doesn’t matter because i want to replace it anyway. But now i have no idea how to remove it without that special tool. anyone has a Hint or Idea?

2) decided to get some work done on the Engine – started to remove the valve cover and gasket:

3) wanted to remove the cylinder head then but found out i need to read a bit before i start with that so i tried to turn the engine manually and it cranks smoothly with a torque-wrench, at least i know it turns – good to know:

Sadly when i returned home i had to find out someone with a yellow car hit my daily ride at home and left it with a huge yellow stripe and a big dent in the trunk. Not that sad because the car is rubbish anyway, but i hate people hitting other’s cars and don’t care about other’s hard earned stuff. Fuck you!

4) Yesterday (Saturday) me and my friend Danny went out to to the season-opener aka “Rennsporttage Frauenfeld” which is actually a Slalom race and a day where a lot of race-teams make their shakedown tests for bigger races and smaller clubsport drivers have the oppurtunity to beat the clock. You can see everything, from Mugen Powered Formula Nippon open racecars…

To smaller cars like the old but light and cool-as-ever Honda CRX:

Or probably you’re more into brandnew and race-prepped Mercedes AMG SLS? And the car hunting it (and also beated two of the SLS later!) is Mikko Hirvonen’s last year’s WRC car a swiss privateer bought now and races (and i might say he knows how to treat it!).

Well i thought to find a few cars in the corner of that warehouse, but actually they totally rebuilt the inside and now have a beautiful place full of old memorabilia and stuff – great!

This is Stefan’s personal ride. an Ex Works Porsche 3L Turbo. Please forgive me if i’m wrong with the details. I Know everything about japanese cars but i really don’t know too much about european vehicles.. what a shame

He and his dad use to drive their porsches at some local Classic  hillclimb races, that’s why a rollcage and OMP seats are installed inside:

The building has three floors, on the ground floor you’ll find some kind of garage with tools and lift for the usual work on oldtimers:

Speaking of Martini racing livery, there is a littler corner in hommage to the world famous Lancia Delta Group B rallye cars – one of my very few european favorites:
Group B rallye cars just had so much more style than the “ken block cars” these days

Another corner was themed “Barn find” and they put an old dusty Austin Sprite cabriolet there. A real Barn-find! Looks more like a museum – right?!

There was also some sort of “clubhouse” made in classic Chalet-style. really beautiful work with much love to the details. with all those classic advertising shields and stuff:

On the third level a lot more cars are to be found – like this classic alfa romeo:

Then there where also some cars i might know better. Some fast and  of course all blown Japanese legends from the Street performance shop that shares some space:
like the RB26DETT equpped Skyline R34 GT-R and the MKIV Supra JZA80 with 2JZ-GTE twin turbo behind..

As well as a “slightly” modified twin with single-turbo conversion and fully rebuilt engine underneath the carbon hood. Produces something between 800 and 1200PS depending on the pressure. as far as i know.

Well im pretty sure i missed a few cars and details, but i’d like to thank Stefan for the hospitality and tour. Probably my fairlady will find a home here in a few yers (well i don’t think they have any spare-space until then ). But im not sure if my old rusty shell deserves a place between these legends… I’ll leave you with this pic:
