RACE: Bergrennen Oberhallau intl. Hillclimb Race 2011

In Switzerland Circuit racing is forbidden by law, since a big crash happened in france many years ago. So overe here we mostly enjoy Slalom, Rallye and Hilclimb (Which is really not safer than circuit racing). Anyway. Here at the north top of Switzerland we don’t have too much racing activities so once a year our local Hillclimb race is a really must-go!

Racing activities are going in a lot of different categories. from Silhoutte cars like the one above. To old rallye cars like this famous Ex Group-B WRC Lancia who’s twin charged (Supercharger and Turbocharger!) . cars like these run between 500 and 800hp!

Of course there are a lot of hardcore-modified classics like this Local-Hero hunting the time in his famous Opel Kaddet C through the “Tarzan-Kurve” (the spectator-bend..)

If you wonder why my shots aren’t the best: We where a little late and had to stand in the middle of the crowd a few meters away from the track so it was hard to fetch some nice shots:

The cool thing is that the racing-pits / Paddocks are in the middle of “oberhallau” so eveybody can walk arround in thepits and between the cars and have a beer while checking how mechanics do their things and how drivers prepare:

Honda Engine anyone? πŸ™‚

Yeah the white Lancia is Bruno Ianiello’s S4 and the red one belongs to him too πŸ˜€ His bigest rival is the Yellow twin charged (Supercharger & Turbo) 800+ho Evo.
There was even i white widebody AE86 but it was to fast for my camera πŸ™‚ Also really liked the old Mazda 323F. Sadly the ultra-cool Mercedes from Reto Meisel with an old Judd F1 engine was missing this year..

Yeah we were a bit late too, that’s the reason we had to stand in the middle of the crowd. So i wasn’t able to get some really nice Photos from the track. Anyway – have fun at Gurnigel. Sadly i can’t be there :-/
